Watching her with Hugo and Evelyn every day is something that never stops inspiring me. Her patience, her strength, her softness, her humour, and her ability to hold everything together even on the hardest days—it’s honestly a kind of magic. Our kids are who they are because of her love, her example, and the safe, beautiful world she creates around them.

The island is 170” x 42” and we couldn’t be happier with the Soapstone from @ceragres 🙌 We love the deep, rich tones and natural feel, but we also want to be real—soapstone does require some maintenance. It will patina and develop scratches over time, but in our opinion, that just adds to its organic beauty! If you love a lived-in, evolving surface with character, it’s a fantastic choice. Let us know if you have any other questions!

Make sure to have 32-34” inches of clearance for typical counter stools.

Plan for 30-34” of counter per stool you’d like.

For large pendants, space them a minimum 30” apart and 12” from the end of the counter.

Place your hood fan 32”-38” above the grill.

For small to medium-sized gallery wall frames, space them 2” apart (1.5 to 2.5 is ok as well).

For large artwork above sideboards or sofas, hang it 6” to 8” above the furniture. Lower if the ceilings are low and higher if the ceilings are high.

And for art above a headboard, keep it 4” to 6” above.

We’re all about a little change! So, which do you prefer—Look 1 (before) or Look 2 (after)?

Sometimes, all it takes to breathe new life into a space is reimagining what you already have! We moved our two large art frames to our son’s room, pushed the dressers together to create the illusion of one, added a soft, minimalist painting we had in the basement, layered in a smaller frame, and shifted the mirror to the side.

While we’re loving both styles, we’re excited to hear which one you’re leaning towards! Let us know your favorite! ✨

After breakfast, I love to settle in with a book that inspires and motivates me for the week ahead. Of course, no morning is complete without a fresh cup of espresso!

Next, I journal to clear my thoughts and set my intentions. Before lunch, I enjoy a hybrid workout and yoga session, followed by a few moments of gratitude and reflection.

Today, we want to share an update on one of the most frequently asked questions: “When are you breaking ground on your dream home?”

Back in December 2020, right after we announced our LD Cabin Co. project, we also shared that we’d personally purchased a beautiful 2-acre lot on a picturesque cul-de-sac, a place where we envisioned building our dream family home. Many of you were just as excited as we were, and we couldn’t wait to bring you along on that journey.

However, life had other plans. We bought this land during a time when we longed for a secluded haven. But as the world has changed, so have we. We find ourselves now craving more social connections, the vibrancy of city life and the convenience of being so close to our kids’ school and activities is undeniable. As well, we poured much of our life savings back into our business in the past few years and we no longer find ourselves in a position to comfortably start this project. Finally, many of you have shared that you’d rather see us take on another renovation than a new build, and honestly, we feel like that might be the best next step for us at this time of our lives.

With all this said, we’ve made the decision to sell this stunning piece of land. It’s a bittersweet moment, but we’re hopeful that another family will have the chance to build their dream home here.

We’re always grateful for the support of our community on here and we can’t wait to take you along for the next adventure, whenever or wherever that may be.

Summer here is just as magical as the winter. Stunning morning sunrises above the valley mist transition into warm, sun-soaked days on the terrace.

Last week, we hosted our first magazine shoot, which went spectacularly well. We can’t wait to see our space featured next spring!

Recently, we also installed a new sauna, a project one year in the making! We’re excited to share all its details with you this weekend.

We are immensely grateful for this place and all the special memories our guests create here. From girls’ weekends and family reunions to micro-weddings, athletes competing in their first Ironmans, and 50th-anniversary milestones, every stay adds a unique story to our cabin’s history. Thank you for being a part of our journey! ❤️
