About Us

LD Shoppe is growing again! We are busier than ever with many exciting things on the go and are seeking an extremely organized and self-motivated floor manager to support our sales associate team in working efficiently and collaboratively.

About the Job

Officially, you’ll be the LD Shoppe Floor Manager. That said, we’re looking for a self-starter who can wear many hats and take on any task that comes their way. We're looking for someone to lead and support the sales associate team and ensure that daily operations are being completed with maximum efficiency. The ideal candidate will also assist in developing and improving internal systems.

About You

This role is for you if you:

  • have 2-3 years of leadership experience in a retail setting

  • are a reliable and motivated self-starter (taking initiative is huge in this role!)

  • are a confident delegator (appointing tasks to teammates in order to be more efficient collectively is key!)

  • are detail oriented and love to keep things organized

  • are a strong communicator and listener

  • have a positive attitude and eagerness to work hard

  • understand and thrive in a collaborative work environment

  • have demonstrated a strong ability to lead a team

  • have a proven ability to drive sales and motivate teammates

Assets:

  • Knowledge of retail computer systems; preferably experience with Shopify

  • Bilingual (French & English)

About the Role

You will be working out of our showroom at Trainyards, centrally located in Ottawa. This position is a supporting, managerial, and leadership role. Your duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Scheduling staff

  • Recruiting, training, supervising and supporting sales and order-fulfillment associates

  • Customer relations; communicating lead times, managing returns and addressing customer complaints

  • Liaison between associates and upper management

  • Assisting with improving and implementing company policies

  • Working one weekend shift and one evening shift per week

  • The most important duty is to be uber helpful in encouraging a positive team environment!

This role demands a person who can wear many hats and take initiative to get things done wherever needed. Our company is multi-faceted, taking our team in many different directions every day, so you’ll need to be a ‘yes’ person who can roll with the punches and embrace challenges. Above all, you have to be a team player.

Hours: 40 hours/week; mostly business hours with the expectation of one weekend shift and one evening shift per week

Wage/Salary: 35k - 40k/year (depending on experience)
