Leclair Decor Roles

HR Administrator (Full-time)


We are looking for someone who can help us keep up with the HR side of this rapidly growing business of ours! We want to further scale our warm modern company culture and are looking for someone who can help build out our onboarding and training packages for staff. You will work closely with our HR Associate to ensure our team is fully taken care of and help us continuously improve the way we onboard and train our employees. The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys writing, is self driven, and has some experience in the field of Human Resources. Responsibilities:

  • Assists with payroll, scheduling and related processes.
  • Updates human resources files, contracts and information, and safeguards confidential information.
  • Manages the full cycle recruitment process including sourcing, hiring and integrating new team members.
  • Manages separations and the exit process.
  • Plans, administers and tracks various training sessions.
  • Organizes and coordinates various corporate events including team building, birthdays, employee milestones, etc.
  • Develops, implements and evaluates human resources policies, programs and procedures.
  • Keeps abreast of changing employment legislation and updates policies and records accordingly.
  • Advises management and employees on all human resources matters.
  • Understands and supports the accomplishment of company goals, growth targets and the long term vision of Leclair Decor.
  • Creation of training & Development programs company wide
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Reliable, motivated and a self-starter (taking initiative is huge in this role!)
  • Passionate about Human Resources and takes the initiative to learn about the company and how to make it better
  • Effective communicator who can clearly relay information to all team members including ownership
  • Eagerness to learn and develop new policies and procedures to create a happy work environment
  • Thorough, organized and detail-oriented
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Tech savvy with an aptitude for a variety of software and applications
  • Fluency in both English and French is an asset
Requirements:
  • A bachelor's degree, diploma or postgraduate certificate in human resources management is required.
  • 2+ years of experience as a human resources generalist or specialist is required.
  • CHRP designation or working towards is an asset.
Role Details:
  • Full time, salaried (based on 40 hours/week)

Graphic Designer (Full-time)


We’re seeking a passionate and experienced Graphic Designer to join our Marketing Team! To thrive in this role you’ll need to be organized, detail oriented, and love all things digital, including communication. We are looking for someone to assist with our blogs, Instagram stories, site banners, mail outs and so much more! Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Marketing Team with the creation of supporting marketing materials, such as Instagram stories, mail outs, in store signage, LD Shoppe website banners, and in the creation of blogs,
  • Assist the Design Team (as well other internal departments) with the creation of documentation and graphics,
  • Create templates for the newsletters and assist in their creation,
  • Create supporting graphics for video and blog content, including Youtube thumbnails and illustrations, IGTV graphics, and supporting blog graphics,
  • Assist with the organization and implementation of marketing campaigns for new product collaborations, sales, etc.,
  • Help amp up all things internal and external marketing while ensuring we’re on brand with our graphics and messaging,
  • Work with the marketing team to ensure the communication of all LD Shoppe & Leclair Decor branding across all platforms is uniform and speaks clearly to our aesthetic,
  • And lastly, we need someone who can jump in wherever necessary! This role will require you to wear many hats as we develop the brand and evolve as a company.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets,
  • Proficient in Adobe softwares (Lightroom, Photoshop, and Illustrator),
  • 2-3 years experience as a graphic designer,
  • Extremely organized and meticulous,
  • Strong independent problem-solving skills and demonstrated bias for action,
  • An interest in interior design and decorating is a plus, but not required!

  • Work from home (Ottawa-based preferred, but we’re open to a remote setup for the right candidate!)

Expediter (Full-time)


As Leclair Decor’s Expediter, you will facilitate and oversee the flow of all product and/or materials from suppliers and vendors to receiving warehouses, clients, trade partners, and final project locations. You will work closely with Leclair Decor’s design team to coordinate order lists, submit orders, facilitate product revisions, track delivery status and product location, coordinate with receiving warehouses and delivery, and coordinate install teams. Responsibilities:

  • Establish detailed, organized order sheets based on the project shopping list.
  • Submit and manage all product orders for full service design projects.
  • Conduct all product-related admin related to full service design projects (submitting and categorizing invoices in Hubdoc, updating purchasing summary lists, updating and processing Shopify draft orders, etc.)
  • Coordinate with the Leclair Decor design team to facilitate product revisions based on availability and individual project timelines.
  • Coordinate inbound shipping, receiving, and local delivery of all products to final project locations.
  • Act as main liaison between Leclair Decor design leads and local receiving partner.
  • Procure and coordinate the receiving, storage, delivery, and installation services for out-of-town projects.
  • Order all material samples and coordinate assembly and shipment of sample packages to out-of-town clients.
  • Submit and manage claims for damaged or missing goods.
  • Compose and submit weekly product status updates to design leads, indicating any items which may put a project timeline at risk.
  • Assist with other project admin when needed and as schedule allows.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets,
  • Experience with Shopify an asset,
  • 1-2 years experience in an expediter or related administrative role preferred,
  • Extremely organized and meticulous,
  • Strong, independent problem-solving skills and a demonstrated bias for action,
  • An interest in interior design and decorating is a plus, but not required!

Design Associate (Full-time)


We are looking for a design associate to help our lead designers bring our projects from dreams to reality. You will be dealing directly with clients to communicate our design aesthetic and assist in creating their dreams. We are looking for someone with a design background who is comfortable in sketch up and revit. You will assist in the installation of our design plans. Responsibilities:

  • Attends meetings in a supportive role to consult with clients to determine needs, preferences, functional requirements and intended use of space
  • Assists lead designers with the preparation of quotes to prospective clients in line with the appropriate level of service
  • Assists lead designers with the preparation of all design project documents including proposals, invoices and contracts, etc
  • Assists lead designers with the preparation, submission, revision, and management of project budgets.
  • Works in collaboration with lead designers to develop detailed, high-end design concepts in line with client preferences and the Leclair Decor brand style.
  • Works in collaboration with detailed plans and design materials such as mood boards, millwork elevations, floor plans, 3D models, 2D mockups and specification lists, etc.
  • Assists lead designers in coordinating and managing third-party service providers such as storage facilities, movers, contractors, millworkers and tradespeople, etc.
  • Assists lead designers in preparing and submitting final design packages and specifications for execution
  • Assists lead designers in the coordination of ordering, receiving, delivery and installation of relevant items
  • Shadows lead designers in all tasks and responsibilities associated with lead designer role in any project
  • Assumes lead role on LD Shoppe Decorating Guide services (when deemed appropriate by management)
  • Maintains effective communication with lead design team to manage own time effectively and provide support across active projects
  • Assists with non-project tasks and administrative requirements such as software and file management, sample organization, warehouse organization, internal document review and studio clean-ups, etc.
  • Works collaboratively with colleagues to support successful outcomes for the company
  • Utilizes unique skillset to assist with internal operations and projects (e.g., graphic design, writing, video production, etc.)
  • Provides support to design team on install days and photoshoots
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Proficient with Mac OS, Google applications, Photoshop, Illustrator, Excel, AutoCAD and Rhino.
  • 1-2 years experience in a interior design capacity,
  • Extremely organized and meticulous,
  • Strong independent problem-solving skills and demonstrated bias for action.





LD Shoppe Roles

Showroom Consultant (Full-time)


Officially, you’ll be a Showroom Consultant at LD Shoppe. That said, we’re looking for you to be a motivated individual who can wear many hats and take on any tasks that come your way. We’re looking for you to head up our customer experience and you will need to have a knack for decorating and be able to assist customers with their selections. You will be expected to dive deep into product knowledge and provide our guests with a curated look for their home. You will also need to assist the manager and ensure operational tasks and procedures are successful as well as opening and closing routines are completed, all while keeping the customer the centre of everything we do. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Reliable, motivated, and a self-starter (taking initiative is huge in this role!)
  • Passionate about home decor,
  • Service-oriented,
  • Thorough and organized,
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills,
  • Takes initiative to learn about our products and services,
  • Team player who enjoys working in a supportive environment,
  • A flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings and holidays is required,
  • Fluency in both English and French is an asset.
Requirements:
  • Completion of secondary school is required.
  • Previous experience in customer service in a retail environment is required.
Role Details and Compensation:
  • Full time, compensation paid on an hourly basis.

Sales Associates (Full-time)


We’re seeking a creative and motivated Sales Associate to join our LD Shoppe location! The Sales Associate is the primary point of contact for LD Shoppe customers, providing exemplary customer service by serving all customers promptly and professionally and identifying opportunities to promote Shoppe merchandise to better meet customers’ needs. To be successful in this role, you’ll need excellent people skills and the ability to wear many hats. You’ll assist the manager and assistant manager to ensure operational tasks and procedures are successfully completed while keeping the customer at the centre of everything you do! Responsibilities:

  • Create a positive customer experience by understanding and meeting service needs quickly and professionally.
  • Advise customers on the use and care of merchandise, and provide advice concerning specialized products and services.
  • Take the initiative to promote merchandise that meets customers’ needs.
  • Take ownership when customers experience a problem and take the appropriate steps to resolve the problem.
  • Process sales transactions and handle cash.
  • Protect customer privacy.
  • Operate computerized inventory record keeping and re-ordering systems.
  • Lift and move boxes and furniture where required.
  • Contribute to social media content.
  • Maintain the store, including organizing samples, merchandising, pricing and accessing warehouse.
