Welcome to the Weekly Warmth!

I'm so glad you're here! This new addition to our blog is a reminder to take time for yourself—something I’m always making an effort to do throughout our often hectic business and family schedule. Here, I’ll share a weekly collection of fashion, cooking, lifestyle, and design favourites, along with uplifting stories, helpful tips, and more. With the Weekly Warmth, we can all come back to a creative space and find special moments in the everyday.

I hope you draw inspiration from the little things that brought me warmth this week.

  1. I’m currently loving the Chef's Plate subscription box we have been using over the last month! We’ve tried a few different meal subscription services and this is our favourite to date. It has been a huge time saver for our busy lifestyle and helps our whole family eat healthy and try new recipes.

  2. When I have a little more time, I’ve been cooking my way through Cook Beautiful by Athena Calderone. I can’t wait to try the Creamy Cauliflower Soup on page 150—it seems like the perfect cure for chilly winter days ahead.

  3. We’ve been embracing the long-lasting fall colours this year! Hiking is THE family activity for us and if you’re local to the Ottawa/Gatineau area we recommend Pink Lake or Princess Louise Falls for amazing views of the autumn foliage and some fresh air.

  4. We’ve recently launched our Holiday Collection at LD Shoppe and I have my eye on a few favourites to add to our collection of seasonal decor, including some new scents, this faux sage and mini spruce wreath, the simple and natural Noel Hyacinth Loop, and these sweet snowflake ornaments. Check out our Holiday Styling Guide if you need a little inspiration for your own home this year!

  5. I love audiobooks. I don’t often have a lot of time to sit and read, so audiobooks are my go-to in the car on drives to client visits or out to LD Cabin. I recently finished Dare to Lead by Brené Brown—this one really inspired me to continue developing my leadership skills for my team.

  6. Lately, I’ve been turning to Jenny Bird jewelry as the final touch to an outfit. I love purchasing from Canadian brands and her pieces always feel modern yet timeless. After the last couple years of athleisure-chic WFH wear, I’ve been taking it up a notch and wearing more dresses and skirts when we head into the office. My latest pleated favourites are below!
