Design Delights: 5 of our Favourite Details in Our Chic Chicago Project Kitchen
Architect: Moment Design & Architecture, Build: Tartan Builders , Interior Design: Leclair Decor
In the world of interior design, it's the little things that often make the biggest impact. In our recent Chicago kitchen project, we had the pleasure of incorporating several standout design details that not only enhanced the functionality of the space but also added a touch of elegance and sophistication. Today, we're excited to share our five favorite design details from this project that left us and our clients delighted.
1. The Oversized Picture Window:
One of the first things that catch your eye when entering this Chicago kitchen is the breathtaking oversized picture window. Not only does it flood the space with natural light, but it also provides a stunning view of the outdoors. What makes this feature even more remarkable is the floating hood fan design placed strategically in front of the window. This design choice not only offers an unique view but also adds a modern and airy aesthetic to the kitchen.
2. Cabinet Details:
The cabinets in this kitchen are a testament to the power of thoughtful design. The grooves on the wood cabintery add a subtle texture and depth, while the thin shaker design brings a touch of minimalism, ensuring a timeless appeal that's both stylish and functional.
3. Creative Storage:
In the pursuit of creating a kitchen that seamlessly blends style and functionality, our third favorite detail is the in-drawer paper-towel storage. This clever addition not only keeps the paper towels within easy reach but also maintains the sleek and uncluttered appearance of the kitchen. It's a small touch, but it goes a long way in enhancing the overall homeowner experience.
4. Unique Toe-Kicks:
To give the cabinetry in this Chicago kitchen a more furniture-like look, we implemented a subtle yet impactful design choice – setback under cabinet toe-kicks. This feature not only contributes to the aesthetics but also creates a sense of continuity and flow within the space. It's a design detail that blurs the line between kitchen and living area, elevating the kitchen's ambiance.
5. Reeded Glass:
Last but certainly not least, we have the reeded glass fronts on the custom cabinets. These textured glass panels add a layer of sophistication and richness to the kitchen. They not only serve as an elegant backdrop for displaying a coffee bar and glassware but also create a captivating interplay of light and shadow, infusing the space with warmth and character.
In our Chicago kitchen project, it's the thoughtful design details that truly shine. From the oversized picture window with its floating hood fan to the grooved cabinet detailing, in-drawer paper-towel storage, setback under cabinet toe-kicks, and reeded glass fronts, each element was carefully chosen to elevate the kitchen's aesthetic and functionality.
