Weekly Warmth: Finding Inspiration

The Weekly Warmth is a reminder to take time for yourself. Here, I share a weekly collection of fashion, cooking, lifestyle, and design favourites, along with uplifting stories, helpful tips, and more. With the Weekly Warmth, we can all come back to a creative space and find special moments in the everyday.

As a creative person in a creative industry, and a woman who wears many hats, I gain inspiration from all kinds of sources—from my family, friends, and colleagues, from everywhere I go and everything I see, and from other experts in their field who share their insights. I often find that one bit of inspiration might apply to multiple areas of my life and that we can build on each other's ideas to create something beautiful. So today, I’m sharing my daily sources of inspiration for all the roles I play. I hope you draw inspiration from the little things that brought me warmth this week.

  1. Our business is constantly growing and evolving, so it’s important to me to keep my mind and time open to learning. I regularly listen to Brené Brown, Adam Grant, and a host of TED Talk podcasts to explore new ways to lead and improve LD.

  2. As I fully step into my role as CEO this year, I’m diving into more focused books including The Ride of a Lifetime and CEO Excellence to help me find inspiration to build out the vision and architecture for the future of our business.

  3. When it comes to design, I have been drawing inspiration from all platforms and mediums. I’m really leaning into minimalism, as well as modern European design and unique, nature-inspired architecture.

  4. Being a mother is the role of a lifetime! I believe it pushes you to constantly grow and evolve alongside your children. Our kids are now 5- and almost 7-years-old, so we are entering a new realm of independence, thought, and inquisitiveness. I do my best to stay open and honest with them. I let them know I’m here to lead and guide them, but that I’m also going to make mistakes and that I’m on this journey with them.

  5. Sacha and I do have very busy work lives, so spending quality time together and going on adventures with the kids is essential to our family dynamic and top priority for us. I’ve gained a lot of insight into intentional parenting and finding joy in the ups and downs from the Raising Good Humans podcast with Dr. Aliza Pressman.

  6. Spending time on myself is the foundation for all I do—I am my best self when my cup is full. I achieve this by making time to work out, nourishing my body, and fueling my mind. I tune into the Goop podcast and Oprah’s Super Soul Sunday for a little self-care, and reset with my Calm app through meditation and reflection every evening.
