The centre point of your space, the coffee table, holds the potential to set the mood for the entire room. Whether you're welcoming the vibrant colours of fall or simply craving a change, styling your coffee table can bring a fresh, serene atmosphere to your home. Both spring and fall are perfect seasons to refresh your décor. Whether you're purchasing something new, rearranging your current pieces, or bringing out seasonal items from storage, there are countless ways to revitalize your living space. Today, we’re honing in on a simple yet impactful part of the room: the coffee table. Cozy Candles Nothing says fall like the warm, flickering glow of a candle. Choose a candle in a soothing scent, like pumpkin spice, cinnamon, or warm vanilla. Not only will it fill your home with the comforting aroma of fall, but it will also add a gentle ambiance that feels cozy and inviting. Stacked Books Books are a simple way to add texture and interest to your coffee table. Choose a few beautifully bound volumes that align with your interests or the season. A meaningful object—whether it’s a family heirloom, a travel souvenir, or something that simply brings you joy—adds character and depth to your coffee table. These personal elements tell a story and make the space uniquely yours. By combining these three elements—a cozy candle, stacked books, and a meaningful object—you’ll create a warm and welcoming coffee table that invites relaxation and rejuvenation. It’s the perfect way to refresh your space for fall, adding both style and substance to your living room.

Whether you're working with a large canvas or creating a gallery wall, proper placement makes all the difference in achieving a professional, polished look. It’s not just about aesthetics—it’s also about balance, proportion, and making sure your art enhances the room without feeling too low, too high, or out of sync with the furniture. By following a few tried-and-true measurement guidelines, you can ensure that your artwork stands out while perfectly complementing the surrounding design. Whether you're refreshing a hallway, adding personality above a sideboard, or creating a cozy vibe in the bedroom, these tips will help you achieve the perfect look. Check out our quick video for more visual guidance! Large Canvases in Hallways: For a gallery-worthy look, aim to hang the centre of the piece at 60 inches from the floor. This height aligns with average eye level, offering a balanced and polished appearance. Gallery Wall Frames: When creating a small or medium-sized gallery wall, space each frame 2 inches apart for consistency. A range between 1.5 to 2.5 inches works too, depending on your aesthetic preference. Large Artwork Above Furniture: For pieces above sideboards, dressers or sofas, position the artwork 6-8 inches above the furniture. Adjust this if your ceilings are either shorter or quite high to maintain proportion and flow. Art Above a Headboard: If you're hanging art in the bedroom, keep it 4-6 inches above the bed for a cohesive and anchored look. Conclusion Remember, these measurements are flexible guides meant to help you create a balanced and harmonious feel in your space. Every room is unique, so don’t be afraid to tweak these numbers based on ceiling height, furniture style, and personal taste. Ultimately, art should be a reflection of your personality and add joy to your home. By following these tips, you’ll ensure that your artwork is both well-placed and impactful, turning any wall into a captivating focal point. Happy decorating, and enjoy the process of making your space feel more like home!

- How to Hang Curtains
Curtains are more than just a decorative touch. They play a vital role in enhancing the warmth, texture, and acoustics of your living or bedroom space. Whether you're designing a cozy space or aiming for a more sophisticated, modern look, curtains can provide the perfect blend of form and function. I-Beam shown here. Why Curtains Matter 1. Warmth and Comfort: Curtains add a layer of insulation to your windows, helping to retain heat during the colder months and keep cool air in during the summer. This not only makes your space more comfortable but can also help with energy efficiency, potentially reducing heating and cooling costs. 2. Texture and Style: Curtains are a fantastic way to introduce texture and colour to a room. They can soften the look of hard lines and surfaces, making the space feel more inviting. From light, airy sheers to thick, luxurious drapes, the choice of fabric can drastically change the mood of a room. Neutral tones can create a calming atmosphere, while patterns can add to the style transformation of a room. 3. Sound Absorption: One of the often-overlooked benefits of curtains is their ability to absorb sound. Heavy curtains can significantly reduce the amount of noise entering from outside, making your living or bedroom space a quieter, more peaceful place. They can also help minimize echoing within a room, creating a more serene environment. Classic Curtain Panels (with hooks) & Rod, & doble rings with endcaps. (8' Ceiling) How to Hang Curtains for Maximum Impact Now that we understand the importance of curtains, let's talk about how to hang them properly. The way you hang your curtains can significantly impact the overall look and feel of a room. Here are some tips to get it right: 1. Choose the Right Length: For a polished look, curtains should ideally kiss the floor. This means they should just touch the ground or hover about half an inch above it. For standard 9-foot ceilings, a 96-inch curtain panel is often a good choice. This allows for about 2-3 inches of space for the curtain rod and rings, resulting in the curtain hanging approximately 9-10 inches from the ceiling. 2. Hang Them High: To create the illusion of height and make your space feel larger, hang your curtains closer to the ceiling rather than just above the window frame. As a rule of thumb, aim to mount your curtain rod about 4-6 inches above the window frame or closer to the ceiling if your room has higher ceilings. If you have 8' ceilings or lower you will want to hang them as close to the ceiling as possbile to create a much visual height to the space as you can. 3. Extend the Rod Beyond the Window: To make your windows appear larger and allow more light to enter the room, extend the curtain rod about 6-12 inches beyond the window frame on either side. This trick also ensures that when the curtains are open, they don’t block any part of the window, maximizing natural light. 4. Choose the Right Hardware: The curtain panel for each side with hooks and liner. (Light filtering liner for living spaces and blackout for bedrooms) 1.25 or 1.5" curtain rod Double rings (a package for each panel) Brackets (two end and one middle c bracket for added support on large windows) Finials or Endcaps to complete it. Make sure they are sturdy enough to support the weight of your curtains. Opt for rods that complement your decor style. For a more modern look, go for sleek metal rods; for a traditional or rustic vibe, wooden rods can add warmth and charm. 5. Use an I-Beam for Floor-to-Ceiling Curtains: For a sleek, modern aesthetic, consider using an I-beam to hang your curtains directly from the ceiling with a ripple fold detail is ideal. This technique is perfect for homes with low ceilings, unique loft details, or a contemporary design. An I-beam allows the curtain to hang flush against the ceiling, creating a seamless floor-to-ceiling look that enhances the room's height and adds drama to your space. This method is particularly effective in open-plan living areas or industrial-style lofts, where the clean lines and uninterrupted flow of fabric complement the overall design. Hang them high to draw your eye up and add to the height of the space. If you have unique ceiling details or unique overall height, you may need to go custom or have your curtains hemmed to fit just right. Curtians can just 'Kiss the floor' for ease of use and overall look. Final Thoughts Adding curtains to your living or bedroom space is one of the easiest and most effective ways to enhance both aesthetics and functionality. They offer a simple way to add warmth, texture, and even sound absorption to your home, making it more inviting and comfortable. By following the tips above, you can hang your curtains in a way that maximizes their impact, transforming your space into a cozy, stylish retreat.

Sauna Heater | Sauna Bucket Sauna Wellness The benefits of sauna are indeed plentiful and varied, making it a popular relaxation and wellness practice for many individuals. Saunas have been used for centuries across different cultures for their therapeutic properties. One of the key benefits of sauna is its ability to promote relaxation and stress relief. The heat from the sauna helps to relax muscles, improve circulation, and release endorphins, which are known as the body's natural feel-good chemicals. Moreover, sauna sessions can also help in detoxification by inducing sweating, which aids in flushing out toxins from the body. This process can be beneficial for the skin as well, helping to cleanse pores and promote a healthy complexion. In addition, regular sauna use is believed to support the immune system, as the heat exposure can stimulate the production of white blood cells, which play a crucial role in fighting off infections. Furthermore, saunas are known to have positive effects on cardiovascular health. The heat causes blood vessels to dilate, which can lead to improved circulation and lower blood pressure. This can be particularly beneficial for individuals with certain cardiovascular conditions. Some studies have also suggested that regular sauna sessions may help in reducing the risk of certain chronic diseases, such as heart disease and Alzheimer's. (This is no way professional medical advice, but helpful information shared amoungst friends.) Overall, the benefits of sauna extend beyond just relaxation, encompassing aspects of physical health, mental well-being, and even social interaction in some cultures where sauna is a communal activity. Whether it's for unwinding after a long day, promoting overall health, or simply enjoying a moment of tranquility, the sauna offers a holistic experience that can be beneficial for both body and mind. - 5 Timeless Paint Colours
When it comes to interior design, the possibilities are limitless, especially in the realm of paint choices. Browsing through paint samples can be overwhelming, and a small piece of a color can only provide limited insight into how it will appear in your living space. Although design preferences change over time and trends come and go, we have selected our top five Benjamin Moore timeless paint colours for you to consider. Take a look at how they are showcased in our recent projects and envision creating your own style around one of these reliable choices! Westmount Kitchen Project. Dark hues are experiencing a significant resurgence! The French Beret provides an ideal touch of gentle contrast and is among our top choices for walls and millwork. This shade is a dark grey with a touch of blue, offering a contemporary, more neutral twist on the traditional navy color. Leclair Home Living Room Project. Opting for a timeless white shade is consistently a fantastic choice. Chantilly Lace ranks high among our favored paint hues, offering a pure, sharp, and genuine white hue devoid of blue or yellow hints. This color is ideal for enhancing walls, ceilings, and trim in any room. Le Plateau Project. There is a significant trend towards using off-white walls. Swiss Coffee is a particularly cozy off-white shade that works well in more classic or transitional environments. Combining Swiss Coffee with the bright white of Chantilly Lace as a highlight color for architectural details is also a favorite. This combination brings richness and warmth to a room, maintaining a neutral and contemporary feel. LD Vignette. Being neutral doesn't necessarily imply being white! Thunder offers a deeper neutral tone and presents a contemporary option to Swiss Coffee, suitable for both warm and cool environments. Thunder looks fantastic when combined with white baseboards or complemented with coordinated trim to achieve a seamless monochromatic appearance. Bay Area Project. For years, we have been using black paint colors in our designs. Recently, we have been drawn to the off-black shade of Blacktop . It provides a great way to introduce strong contrast without the harshness of a true black. DESIGNER TIP: Our current preference is for a matte finish on walls and ceilings, complemented by an eggshell finish on millwork, trim, and doors. In areas with high foot traffic, we suggest using eggshell on the walls and a satin finish on millwork, trim, and doors. Looking for more paint inspiration? Check out our favourite white paints!

Let's dive into the intricacies of space planning and design, and uncover the secrets to crafting a home that seamlessly blends style with purpose. No. 2 Frame it out! Elevating your home's decor from ordinary to extraordinary often hinges on the artful balance of focal points and design elements. Imagine stepping into your living space and instantly feeling drawn to a captivating large statement art piece adorning the wall above the sofa. Its bold contrast and intricate details command attention, inviting you to pause and appreciate its beauty. But the allure doesn't end there. As your gaze sweeps across the room, you're captivated by the mesmerizing texture of the fireplace, enhanced by a subtle yet striking textured wash. Each element in the space has been thoughtfully curated to create a visual journey—a seamless flow that guides your eye from one focal point to the next. What makes this design truly exceptional is the delicate harmony of colours and textures. Rather than competing for attention, each component complements the others, creating a symphony of visual delight. The warm hues of the artwork echo the subtle tones of the fireplace, forging a cohesive palette that infuses the room with a sense of unity and balance. As you navigate the space, your gaze naturally gravitates towards the art first, drawn in by its captivating presence. Then, like a magnet, your attention is effortlessly pulled towards the fireplace, its textured surface inviting closer inspection. In this carefully orchestrated dance of design, every element serves a purpose—to captivate, to inspire, and to create a sense of harmony that resonates throughout the room. So, as you embark on your own interior design journey, remember the power of focal points and the artful balance of colours and textures. With a keen eye and a thoughtful approach, you can transform any space into a haven of beauty and intrigue. No. 3 Layer it up! Creating an atmosphere that exudes warmth and invites you to sink into its embrace is an art form, and it's all about adding layers of character and depth to your space. Picture stepping into a room where every element beckons you to explore further, where each texture and material tells a story of comfort and authenticity. In this space, we've embraced the beauty of organic materials, weaving them seamlessly into the fabric of the design. From the sumptuous textural rug that grounds the room to the richly grained teak coffee table that invites you to linger over conversations, every piece has been carefully chosen to evoke a sense of warmth and intimacy. But it doesn't stop there. As your eyes wander, you'll notice the subtle details that elevate this modern space from ordinary to extraordinary. The brushed canvas artwork adds a touch of softness and depth, creating a dynamic interplay of movement and contrast that draws you in and invites you to stay awhile. At the heart of it all lies the art of layering—combining materials and textures in a way that is both visually captivating and deeply comforting. Whether it's the tactile allure of a plush throw draped over the sofa or the subtle sheen of metal accents scattered throughout the room, each layer adds depth and dimension, transforming a simple space into a warm modern escape of style and serenity. Remember the power of layering. Embrace the beauty of organic materials, experiment with textures and contrasts, and let your creativity guide you as you craft a space that feels truly like home.
